PerspioIngress

The PerspioIngress interface is dedicated to acquiring telemetry and sensor data from a growing library of connectors. Perspio endeavours to handle the complex work of building and maintaining the connectors to various systems, so you don't have to. There are more than 50 connectors in the PerspioIngress library that enables data to be ingested from devices, OEM solutions and other platforms that house your data.

📘

PerspioIngress = Operational Technology (OT) Systems

These connectors are dedicated to any sensor, device, tag or thing that can communicate using open standards.

A major value proposition these connectors provide is the ability for customers to easily maintain multiple telemetry solutions within the business and be able to access the data from a single endpoint. This allows customers to retain existing investments, implement solutions with their preferred hardware choice and not have to worry about where and how the data can be accessed.

📘

Aggregation and centralisation are not new, but remain essential

Having the confidence that you are reliably capturing all of the telemetry being generated within your business is a critical step to unlocking the most ROI from your data. PerspioIngress connectors provide the capability to easily centralise the multiple silos of telemetry data with simple no-code connector activations. Once data is centralised within Perspio, it will be made available to all of Perspio's features and also provide the business with a clean, centralised interface to access data when it needs.

Supported Data Protocols

The connector library provides support for various protocols to ensure it has the capability to ingest the most common streams of data. Connectors can be easily activated, usually by adding a simple set of credentials. The connectors can typically be generalised into two main categories: RECEIVER and REQUESTER.

Connector TypeDescriptionExample
RECEIVER
(AKA Push)
Connectors in this bucket relate to data that is sent directly to Perspio on a supported protocol. Message listeners are made available at ingress.perspio.io and tcp.perspio.io.The Digital Matter connector considered a RECEIEVER as it listens for messages sent either directly from the device or OEM Server.
REQUESTER
(AKA Pull)
Connectors in this bucket rely upon a scheduled polling of a third party systemThe Geotab connector is considered a REQUESTER as Perspio will poll the Geotab servers every 2 mintues for updates.

Receiver connectors will listen for messages on any of the supported protocols. These have been seperated into secure and unsecure protocols, though security can still exist on other layers of the OSI model.
